Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) is a leading public university based in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, with five campuses: the Mashava Campus, Mucheke Campus, Herbert Chitepo Law School, School of Health Sciences Campus, and the Main Campus at the former Masvingo Teachers' College. Established in 1999 as Masvingo State University and renamed Great Zimbabwe University in 2005, the institution was founded to expand access to higher education and promote heritage-based scholarship. GZU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, law, business, agriculture, health sciences, engineering, arts, and social sciences. Guided by a vision of academic excellence, innovation, industrialisation, and community engagement, the university is committed to producing graduates who contribute to sustainable national development while preserving and promoting Africa's rich cultural and historical heritage.
