Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU)

Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) is a state-governed higher education institution and strategic research centre located in Harare, Zimbabwe. Established from the former National Defence College in 2012 and later elevated to university status, ZNDU provides advanced education, research, and strategic analysis in defence, security, technology, and national development. Operating from its main campus at Rodgers Alfred Nikita Mangena (RAN) Barracks along Mazowe Road, the university serves both military and civilian students. Guided by Zimbabwe’s Education 5.0 philosophy, ZNDU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes through faculties such as Engineering and Technology and Social Sciences, covering areas including aerospace, mechanical, software engineering, defence studies, international studies, and conflict management. The university also houses the Institute of Strategic Research and Analysis (ISRA), contributing to national policy development, innovation, and strategic solutions through research and knowledge creation.
