Eligibility Criteria

Normal Entry: candidates must have a Second Class Honours degree in a relevant discipline (Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Science) from Africa University, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the Graduate Studies Committee (GSC) from another institution -- including equivalent Second Class Honours in any IT area under the National Qualifications Framework. A candidate whose first degree is deficient (third class) may be required to take two additional undergraduate courses; a candidate with a general degree should have at least a lower second class with a B average (CGPA 3.0) or higher in the intended discipline, and may be required to take one or more additional undergraduate courses. Special Entry: requires an undergraduate degree or postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field from Africa University or another recognized institution; the College may impose special admission conditions. Mature Entry: requires proven work-related experience. All applicants (normal, special, mature) need 5 O-Level passes including English Language or equivalent. English proficiency must be demonstrated by: (1) at least two years of university study where English is the language of instruction; (2) at least four years of secondary school study where English was the language of instruction and studied/passed each year; (3) a TOEFL score of 500+; (4) other evidence acceptable to the College and GSC. Candidates not meeting the standard may be provisionally admitted pending completion of the Intensive English Programme.

Application process

Apply online via the Application Portal (acacia.africau.ac.zw/signup) after choosing up to 3 programmes from africau.edu/program. Create an account, submit certified copies of certificates/transcripts, and pay the application fee. If successful, sign and return the Provisional Offer Letter (international students must also apply for a Study Permit and Student Visa). Pay fees in full to secure the offer, then register on the dates listed on the Academic Calendar, bringing original certificates for verification, 2 passport photos, and an X-ray report from a physician.
