Gwanda State University (GSU)

Gwanda State University (GSU) is a public university in Matabeleland South Province, Zimbabwe, currently operating from its temporary campus at the former Epoch Mine in Insiza District while its permanent campus in Gwanda is under development. Established in 2016, the university has a specialised mandate to advance mining engineering, mineral beneficiation, industrial development, and related sciences in line with Zimbabwe's Education 5.0 philosophy. GSU offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, agriculture, natural resources, business, and applied sciences, integrating teaching, research, innovation, industrialisation, and community service. The university embraces digital technologies, inclusivity, gender equity, and sustainable development while preparing graduates to address local and global challenges. Through its focus on value addition, entrepreneurship, and research-driven solutions, Gwanda State University is contributing to the socio-economic transformation of Matabeleland South and Zimbabwe as a whole.
