Established in 1927 as a technical school, the institution has grown into the country's second-largest polytechnic, enrolling approximately 4,000 students across engineering, applied sciences, commerce, information technology, hospitality, art and design, and other technical disciplines. Offering HEXCO, City & Guilds, and short professional courses, the polytechnic is recognised for producing highly skilled graduates who contribute to Zimbabwe's industrial and economic development. Guided by the values of Ubuntu/Unhu and excellence, Bulawayo Polytechnic combines practical, industry-focused training with innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement to prepare graduates for the evolving world of work.
